Service Description: This product is an experimental output of the NASA Landslides working group at Goddard Space Flight Center. It shows the relative landslide hazard in the area in and around the refugee camps in South Bangladesh, based upon a static susceptibility map produced by the landslides working group, and daily rainfall totals from the IMERG satellite-derived rainfall product. Where rainfall exceeds the historical 95th percentile (based on rainfall data 2001-2016), and the underlying susceptibility exceeds a threshold value, a hazard warning is issued – moderate hazard where susceptibility is between 0.4 and 0.8 (out of 1.0) and high hazard when susceptibility exceeds 0.8. The provisional / experimental nature of the product should be considered when making any decisions based on the outputs, and NASA takes no responsibility for the outcome of decisions made based upon this product.
